Red Letter I & II

violence always cuts both ways

Red Letter

a self-portrait from my university days
coming to terms with the violence of a world that can’t seem to stop killing each other
and the ways that connects to our own patterns of self-sabotage and ideas of identity
defender or enforcer? We are our own liberation and worst adversary at one and the same time

—> letters, separation v. connection, distance from others and from self, the subtler kinds of violence inflicted on people’s lives in the wake of events beyond our control

above: second iteration of this concept; the first was done in a graph-paper journal & the original was damaged before I got a very high-quality image of it; see below. Perhaps someday I'll finish Red Letter III.
