Remember the Sound of Your Name

    In spite of the isolation of the pandemic years, they have brought crucial opportunities for personal growth and several major changes to my life, including the social “coming out” that has followed my acceptance of the reality that I am transgender, and the amazing-but-terrifying decision to become a full-time artist. This series has been instrumental in helping me process many of the experiences of the past several years and their effect on me as both a creator and a human being. Goldfish are a symbol of family, however it is composed; as we have tightened our social circles to their innermost rings, the relationships that are worth the work of maintaining have become increasingly precious.
